Money.

We want to be significant.
When you think about it all that means is that we want to matter – we want to be needed.
We want it to make a difference if we are there or not – if we breathe air or not.
The thing is, it does matter.
We are needed.
Much as I personally resist it – don’t you think we all need each other?

We certainly do. If we stopped every now and then and reminded ourselves we are ALL part of this great big universe we may act differently 😉
I think that is most definitely true – it can be so easy to feel alone and cut off and forget how connected we really are.
We most certainly do. But it’s important to always focus on being selfless, not selfish. Our service to others should not also have ulterior motives that will result in the increase in our own comfort or materialistic increase of wealth. When we are truly selfless in our motivation, we have no feeling of unease and unrest when we’re sitting and waiting to be significant to someone else.
Beautifully written. Thanks for sharing.

I really am coming to the conclusion that contrary to what we have come to believe the true nature of all human beings – and our happiness – is most definitely in selfless service – whatever that may be. Thanks.
Agreed. It’s what makes the world work. The picture of the dog is precious!
For me the idea of being needy is probably the harder side of it as it makes me feel vulnerable but I know (in theory at least!) that it’s true and the only way to create balance is to be in it properly. I think the dog might be calling his friend to come over for a chat – what do you think?

Wonderful photo about helping dog. More-than-wonderful lines about how we are all needed. No one, not one thing or person, is insignificant in this universe. We are needed. YOU are needed!
It’s so true – I think he has a direct line – what do you think?

Yes, it matters to all of us to matter and to be needed… even by just one person.
Which is a revolutionary thought in a society that teaches us to demand and take more than to give.
